Success / failure of connection to SGPi by type of computer

From $1

Connecting to the Raspberry Pi version of the sensorgnome has caused problems for
some people in past versions.  Starting with the 2017-04-20 release, this page will collect
status information.  Please send results (positive and negative) to the sensorgnomads
mailing list, and I'll include them here.

For sgpi.local working / not working, please record if iTunes (*) is installed on the computer.

    • windows  7     ???        - Adam S - 2017-05-17   + iTunes or just + Bonjour (*)
    NOT working:
    • windows XP   Firefox  - John B - 2017-05-05
[but really, you shouldn't be using XP - it's a huge security risk]

(*) iTunes?  Yes, it's relevant because iTunes might install Apple's bonjour zeroconf networking, which
recognizes the advertisements sent out by the SG's avahi daemon, allowing .local adresses to work.

(*) Bonjour printing services can be installed directly, without installing all of iTunes
